First time we plug the actuators to power (touching the cables to the battery).
Still need to wire the relays and push button on the steering wheel but our DRS is operational!

Dead man switch on the steering wheel, located near left thumb.
Push to activate, let go to deactivate.
Right hand still free to shift when needed.

Been a while since I posted any progress reports with Morpheus, time for some news, and boy what awesome news I have!

Super proud to announce that I've teamed up with StopTech for a killer upgrade in the braking department on Morpheus :D

Prepping for the upcoming power upgrade I wanted to be sure that Morpheus will be able to also slow down in a hurry and the StopTech BBK with the STR42 calipers are just about perfect for the job.

And if that wasn't going to be enough, Morpheus' calipers received a one-off Stainless Steel piston noses upgrade, making it literally the only STR42 caliper ever built to that spec... our own Morpheus caliper part number, gotta love it!!!

We can spend all day long talking about how StopTech brakes are packed with technology and are beautifully made, but Speed Academy has recently posted a video of a tour in StopTech's facility that does a much better job.

I plan to watch the video later tonight, but what benefit do the SS pistons possess over the stock offering? Is it a set price to upgrade to the SS?

Also curious about the pistons. My STR-42s should arrive in the next couple weeks. Can't wait.

Less heat transfer from pad to fluid is one of the big benefits. Shaping the piston face also helps.

Reduced heat transfer, SS is very hard and a terrible conductor, making it perfect for the job.
The machining details on the piston noses are fantastic and impossible to capture well in a photo without a great macro lense (that I don't have), but it's not only that the ring is grooved, the raised ridges are also chamfered.
Can't recall what the price of the upgrade was, but it wasn't cheap...

I'm familiar with the benefits of stainless, I'm just not sure what makes yours special. Do the standard ST42 and STR42 have aluminum pistons?

That would be odd. I know all the wilwood dynapros have stainless pistons.
