That is what I thought. Did he get out of miatas or something? I haven't heard anything about him in years.

emilio700 Nov 14, 2016 09:19 PM

Gordon took a sabbatical to focus on other things. Still has Mega AFAIK. 450whp C38-74 Rotrex with 275 Hoosiers and more aero than any other Miata on the planet. I should rent his car and bring it out of retirement.

Anxious to see what Moti can do in either of his projects once he installs some hp.

Not sure about this being the case..

Same here.
I need to decide which version of the few I have in mind I should go with.. Every single one of them that involves an easy button purchase feels half assed, and I'm not a fan of half assing things.

Didn't get a chance to post flat bottom pics with the ducting done, so here it is -

BTW, we already went ahead and put another mod on the car immediately after watching the vids from Super Lap -

Maybe that way I'll stop banging the rev limiter all the freaking time... :o

That undercarriage ducting is awesome! What are the ducts feeding exactly?

motormechanic Nov 15, 2016 03:19 PM

they are just feeding air into the center section to cool down the trans. tunnel/exhaust/diff.

Blackbird Nov 15, 2016 04:43 PM

Yep, it works very well too, 2 days of running @ BRP and the tunnel didn't even get warm...

Yes, yes you should, to the first point.

Morpheus hasn't even taken the red pill of horsepower yet, ironically... ;)

Very, very cool. Will be interesting to see the dramatic increase in cooling efficiency if/when power is added to the equation.

This is the only reasonable solution for Morpheus.

Also, cool to hear that the ducts kept the tunnel cool enough. You give me hope Moti!

Blackbird Nov 15, 2016 08:41 PM

Nah, F1 V10 is way more reasonable-er!

Pay attention to the way the heat shields were done, the specifics makes them more effective than more common setups.

aidandj Nov 15, 2016 08:43 PM

But nascar v8s are actually "affordable"

I might have a solution for this problem of yours... Sending you a PM Facebook message.

Kidding aside, I'd love a high revving small displacement V8, but they are all oh-so expensive.

aidandj Nov 15, 2016 09:02 PM

Hayabusa v8?

Blackbird Nov 15, 2016 09:09 PM

Sure, when was the last time you looked at the pricing of a Hartley V8 (based on Hayabusa)?
IIRC the prices are ~$35-40K, depending on displacement / HP.

MetalMuffins Nov 15, 2016 09:10 PM

Synergy V8 FTW :naughty:

Yours for the "low, low price of $43K" (Starting price)

Destroked ls3, 4.8l crank, stock bore and run it to 8000. I'd do it, but no money, and especially no money for a dry sump set up to properly deal with the extra revs on track. Sigh, one day.

On second thought it's not that small of displacement, but whatever, still bad ass.
