Are these at all usable in the rain? You know, without creating unfortunate looking wet spots on my pants? I normally don't drive the car in the rain, but sometimes it's unavoidable, and with no ac and everything closed up, the interior gets hot and steamy in a hurry.

Can't you just roll your window down?

Yeah, you can just open your window for that, it won't draw any air in. Open windows are near useless at speed, like they're still closed. The NACA ducts we're referring to draw air in. The others mention stick out. Either way much more effective than slits.

it seems like the exact opposite, like the inside air gets pulled out. Ive never used these naca ducts but several track friends said they are very affective. personally the heat has never bothered me much inside the car
from experienceexecpt sitting in the paddock which kinda sucks.

I think psrenyol is right, the windows open at high speeds great a vacuum pulling the air out of the car. Plus it's so damn loud. The NACA ducts work great. I have seen scoops that offer even more airflow from the NACA ducts

I can verify, from playing around with a pressure differential gauge, that open windows do draw air out of the car.

What goes in has to come out. I’m not sure where the goesinto and goesouta locations are on a miata. But I do know the NACA in the vent window makes a very effective goesinto. I think the proximity of the side mirror helps push air into it as well.

FWIW I Drove a car with the rear Lexan window pop riveted to the inside surface of the top and it was confirmed the back window actually gets sucked in.

+1 for the NACA duct, lotsa fresh air. Great!

Anyone else on here getting rid of a set of these, I'd like to try them out on my track car build

bringing this back from the archives...

We never had these on our 1st SM but they came on our 2nd SM and we got pretty spoiled by them so going to be making our own for our newest project miata we just bought last weekend..
