Hello guys,

I've just bought a COT wing for my car and i'm searching for mount options.
Will a new group by is going to be made by FM ?

I own an NA so I can't buy the NB one that FM have on stock (or maybe is it possible tout modify it to make it fit an NA ?)

Thanks
Joël

Joel, Keith will probably reply directly soon and might have more up to date info but last I heard on that subject confirmed what you've already read - a friend inquired about the mounts and FM said there are no plans to produce any more, it was a one-time thing.

However, I do know that Blackbird Fabworx makes uprights for the COT wing - trunk rain channel mount similar to mine, rear frame rail mount, whatever you would like. Moti has one on his own car. Various finishes available depending on your budget - from basic CNC cut aluminum (cheaper) to smooth finish and anodized. International shipping should be possible. Oh, and BFW makes new endplates for the wing too if you need those.
His contact is moti@blackbirdfabworx.com if you want to inquire further.

We've done two production runs, we don't have plans to do any more.

There's no pretty way to make an NB unit fit an NA. You'd have to change the angle of the bends at the bottom as well as one of the mid bends, as the amount of twist in the mount is different.

Awesome. Looks good! Can't tell from the pics, are those the flat endplates or the shaped airfoil ones? Make new endplates soon, even if they are the flat ones, there's a lot of improvement to be had.

Is anyone still actively selling COT wings?

Browsed eBay with not much luck. The ones for sale there are obviously jacked up on price. Probably missed the bandwagon here but thought I'd ask if anyone's had luck finding any lately.

The one I've bought comes from ebay, seller ovalspeed, it was'nt cheap (499$) but it was the only one for sale and he accepted to send it to France (and that was a pretty huge parcel....)

Craigslist and the circle track community seem to be the current best bet for the wings. Even at $499, it's still a pretty good deal compared to a new APR.

I've got a "show only" wing here that I'm going to try to modify to make it functionally strong enough. If I can do that, I'll make sure it's a repeatable process. I think there are a couple of levels of show only wings, this one is the lowest.

I remember hearing that the wing can't be wider than the car, but is that the body or the widest part of the car (mirrors)?

Read the rules. In my class its defined as the widest part of the door, excluding the mirrors, door handles, and trim. Since you're allowed to modify every body panel but the doors in my class.

Just in case one of you might be interested...I think I am going to sell my COT wing and FM NB Mounts. I think I am going to keep my V8 build a street car and that's what I had originally bought the COT wing for. Probably $600 for all of it. It has the road race end plates.

Before I sell it, I will go over and get some side by side pics of an actual grand am wing cross section for some of you that have been wondering what (if any) difference there is between the two profiles.

How many of you guys who bought the COT wing are still using either the flat endplates that came with it or other dinky solutions?
Have some end-plate stuff in the works, curious if the COT crowd is interested in a design specifically for them..

I am using them. I would like to get larger endplates eventually to increase the efficiency of the wing ... but due to no front splitter/diffuser, I am severely limited in how much downforce from the wing I can run before understeering my way to victory on track.

So put me down as interested. One of this winters' projects is the front splitter. I will then need more rear downforce for balance. Achieving that via greater efficiency, allowing me to run less angle than otherwise, is win.

My GV lip and undertray is overpowered by -3° in my CoT wing.
Ive settled on -2° with some endplates Moti made that are shaped just like his and Ryan's but NASA legal 11.75" tall. I have the same winter plan of a bigger splitter and/or airdam.
