Carbon fiber is warm, even when it's cold out.

Mine had holes for 5/16" bolts... 8mm wouldn't fit. I really wanted to keep it all metric so I borrowed a 2 foot long 8mm drill bit from work lol. And ditto on socket head being a requirement. Mine was such a close fit that I couldn't even use a button head on the rear mounting point.

5/16" is 7.93mm - pretty darn close I just checked, and an 8mm bolt is a tight but workable fit in our wing.

Bump - last day for the group buy. I don't think we're planning on producing any extras, so if you want a set of mounts then order them today. Don't go all Clubroadster on me and send me a frantic email on Monday morning

Out of interest, what height will the wing be at? I think you said it would be a bit higher than it was on the prototype?

It's a tough measurement to make, as you're dealing with two curving surfaces. But the rear mounting point of the wing (underneath the aerofoil) will be approximately 15" above the trunk lid, measured vertically.

GB is over, the mounts are in production. I've got someone looking for a wing, so if you know of any please let me know. Circle Track Warehouse doesn't have any at the moment.

Let us know when the shop has a ballpark ship date please! The supply of wings on ebay seems to have dried up for the last week or so. I'm very glad mine in safely on hand. I'd love to get a shakedown weekend in early April to make sure nothing disintegrates at 120mph...

They're being cut tomorrow. Here's a question: does anyone care too much about the finish? They can't be cut with protective vinyl on both sides, so they're going to get a bit scratched in manufacturing. A quick run with a D/A sander will give it a brushed finish that will look okay and will take paint happily. I'm leaning towards that option.

A really nice wing showed up today, complete with two sets of end plates plus a CF wickerbill. We got excited, then discovered it's for a customer in the UK who had it shipped here so we can send it along with his mounts!

Don't care about the finish myself. I'll probably scuff and paint it anyway, or just scuff it with a sander and leave it. Function before form. If they work, they work.

easy to say that now, I know how Miata owners are

We're going to go with the D/A finish. Easy to paint, okay to just leave.

Yup! Let me know if you want us to ship the stock trunk mounts - they're fairly heavy and not much use to you. I'm not sure if you need to spend the money. Also, do you want us to ship the asymmetrical end plates as well as the flat ones?
