You can stack a really big rx-7 cooler in the wind on top of the intercooler, or you can lay a cooler passively; horizontal as Hustler did. But if you are getting unusually high temps, then your problem might be unusually high heat production.

Why not check the basics; even try some race fuel... that'd cool it down if it were coming from a ragged edge tune.

If still too hot, then look at your coolant flow; no thermostat/not enough restriction and too fast of coolant flow? Kinked line/too much restriction? Cracked head or head gasket issue pressurizing the system can also look a little like overheating.

Hmm, now that you mention the hoses... one of the heater core hoses is routed in such a way that I bet its a high point in the system. Maybe its trapping air in there. I'll try to re-route it and see if that helps.

I have my cooler mounted in front of the passenger side wheel sideways along the frame rail. it was the only place I could fit such a large core under the bumper. seems to work just fine. its only a B&M core because I did not want to spend the money for a very large setrab/mocal. the small setrab i have was just not large enough

I started running aerocatch hood pins and threw my cooler there. It's a TruCool 24 row, retained it with my NB1 swap and no turbo.

I have a Chinese radiator

The intercooler takes up 95% of the opening to the radiator

So you have a crappy radiator which receives no airflow? :giggle:

1. Plumb at least 20% of the mouth opening directly to the radiator
2. Get a better radiator
