Closed Loop Gear Shifting is in experimental firmware you can get by contacting us. The Mighty Mouse CRX, several other WTAC cars, and some Formula D drifters are using it so it's less experimental, basically proven, just needs some polishing to suit some of the lowest common denominators calling themselves "tuners" these days.

Excited to follow the progress of this build. Looks like it'll be a handful. Hopefully smashes some records!

scan porn

Scanning the tub. Also scanned the subframes and control arms. Next we'll scan our NB2 street car so we have the OEM body panels to use for reference in designing the carbon body work for OGK.

Oh dat Romer arm..

Dropped off the V8R front subframe and Gen 2 Keisler spindles to get scanned. We're going to run FEA on the subframe. It has some clear modulus deficiencies in comparison to the OEM subframe. If we can't reach our stiffness targets with a few well placed gussets and buttresses, we'll design our own subframe from scratch. Also scanned the OEM spindles, hubs and a selection of wheels:

15x8 205/50
15x9 225/45
15x10 245/40
15x11 275/35
When the 295/35 arrives in a few days, we;ll mount it to a 15x12 an scan it too.

Knowing the wheel tire volume will help us plan kinematics for the drop spindles and tub section removal.

aha! This is what I was thinking of, but couldn't remember the name or where it was referenced from. I've heard from a couple of good BMW drivers that the Teves MK60 system is great in terms of engagement and modulation, think S2000-like ABS.

Does anyone know if the Miata OEM ABS sensors and the number of teeth on the OEM abs wheels are compatible with the E46 Teves MK60. Or does it need a full retrofit of the BMW sensors, abs wheels, etc?

Probably a good subject for a new thread.

Better to have a single place to share the info. I've a feeling it will become more common.

Looking forward to the results. While a light piece I always felt it was a step backwards from OEM. Refining this further should pay great dividends. Kudos!

Since you are running with no windshield: I've got a fiberglass Porsche 914 Ginther windscreen you can have if you want (in San Diego). Could fit with some mods or could be used to make a pattern. Anyway if you want it let me know. Sold the car a couple of weeks ago and I want to get rid of it.

We plan in just making something from polycarbonate sheet. Got pics?

A built 911 engine, normally aspirated twin plug 3 liter flat six. Makes about 300 crank hp and revs to 8k. I set it up for vintage racing so it looks a little different today....

(sorry for the thread-jack)

DBW & onboard datalogging. This might be what we end up using for OGK to run the transmission and active aero bits.
Onboard MAP sensor only reads to 22psi so we'll have to run a standalone. Otherwise, it looks to have all the features we'll need.

The MS3 Pro EVO we have is going into Vegas, our S1 build.

Onboard pressure sensor is 3 bar on the Elite series. (~29 psi)

Excited to see this. We should talk soon. ;)
