Oil filter relocation kit for NA
 

Hey guys, I've been doing some research on an oil filter relocation kit. Seeing as my splitter extends past the subframe, I'm looking to get an oil filter relocation kit since it's kind of a PITA to remove it every time I change my oil. After doing some research, I've decided I really want the thompson kit. The only issue is they're only for the NBs. The FM kit looks nice, but it's a bit on the pricey side. What kind of kits are you guys running on your cars? I'm looking for a kit that obviously doesn't leak and has the filter facing up with the opening facing down. Also, if the kit can fit larger filters that would be ideal. Thanks guys.

I use the one from Goodwin: Miata Oil Filter Relocation Kit for Miata No issues, but AFAIK it only uses the standard filter.

That price tag isn't half bad. I'm assuming you can mount it either facing up or down? And you haven't had a single drop leak out? The only issue is you can't fit larger filters but if everything else checks out and there aren't any better options, then I guess this one is the winner. I really wish the Thompson kit would fit an NA. Does anyone know which part of the kit doesn't work with the NA?

I mounted it filter hanging down. No idea why you'd want to mount it upside down.

Ease of removal, potentially spill free on removal. Only bad part is that you really can't prefill the filter. Many cars mount the filter upside down factory.

Stick a cool whip sized container under filter, unscrew. No mess, no bother. Filter changes take less than 3 minutes.

My Toyota truck has filter mounted upside down. You have to catch and wipe up all the oil that spills out. Pain in the ass.
