oil line fitting for turbo feed and pressure sender.
 

my car has a bspt adapter and a brass tee coming out of the block.

I want to remove the brass tee and replace with a steel bspt-npt-an fitting.
where can I get such a part?

the main reason is that I want steel to accommodate the larger size of my aftermarket oil pressure sender. Ive had vibration break brass fittings so I do not like them on racecar, especially with a heavy sender hanging off. '

would a hydraulics fittings line shop have something like this

I had one come with a VDO pressure sender, but I'm thinking of having a short piece of braided line made with a 1/8 bspt male fitting on one end and a 1/8 npt female fitting on the other to remote-mount the pressure send on the firewall.

Begi sells the 1/8th bsp to -4 fitting. I bought a 1/8th bsp tap as well to make my own T fitting. I couldn't find anyone that sells a T with 2 1/8 NPT and 1 bsp port. I'm running about 1' long -4 line to the T, then the pressure sender will mount to the T on the firewall, then a -3 line to the turbo.

Why not just install an oil filter sandwich, put the stock sensor back in the block, and call it a day: Oil Filter Sandwich Adapters

I installed that one this weekend, other than a fuck-up getting the oil filter seal seated properly it was fairly straightforward and no worries of fatiguing t-fittings or working up AN fittings/lines/funstuff.

the car is a track only car so I have a sandwich adapter for the oil cooler with a temp sensor.

I think I'm going to just get a steel tee fitting with NPT, reuse the existing an and bspt adapter fittings. the brass tees can get fatigued and then crack unexpectedly or crack when you try to remove them and it becomes a major pain.

I had a glowshift oil sandwhich plate somehow stop oil pressure in my motor. I will never again recommend one, your money is better saved up and spent on a Mocal plate.

I will see if I can run up to the local hydraulic shop this week and see if they have the correct steal fitting. If so I will pick it up and mail it to you.

awesome, but I doubt they have it. I called a place today and asked for a steel bspt male with 2 female NPT and they said no way. they said just use a bspt -npt adapter and find a steel tee with 1/8 female.


my original plan was to drill and tap fittings in my mocal sandwich adapter but the mazda filter is 2 small so to use the mocal so I would need think about deleting the oil water exchanger and use use a larger filter. just need to make sure I have the right part to attach the mocal to the oem mazda threaded pipe.

I have 3 sandwitch adapters, I really don't want to buy a 4th, plus new npt to 10 an fitting adapters.

What happened to it? Mechanical failure of the body? Seal failed? Did it chunk your motor, or did your gauge just start reading 0 suddenly?
I've heard of sensors occasionally getting clogged (sometimes if teflon tape is used for assembly of the NPT fittings), maybe that's what happened?

What size/thread pitch do we use for the sandwich plate? The big one for the oil filter...

Not sure, one weekend I had oil pressure, the following Tuesday I jumped in my car to drive to work and none. Rebuilt motor before I figured out it was the sandwhich plate. Dropped the plate off at my machinist to have them look at it. Have not been back since to pick it up because of time. I am planning on going up Friday to show them the car and to see what they say about my sandwich plate.

I just did my first oil change after installing the glowshift sandwich plate. It didn't leak or cause any problems when it was in, but I could not separate the oil filter from the plate until both pieces were off the engine. Has anyone else had this problem, or did I just not screw down the sandwich plate adapter threads tight enough the first time?
