That is rather funny. Three of my friends run Precision turbos and they all swear by them. In fact I was on the fence about running one for some time.

Viper I'm glad to hear that. What kind of whp, psi are they running? Are they miatas?, doesn't matter just curious. How long have they been running them. I did talk to some shops that have used them and they had nothing but praise for them. Thanks

Sorry, I should have mentioned that before.
No miatas. MK4 golf, civic and E30. Here is a thread about the civic: https://www.miataturbo.net/media-53/...y-civic-68565/ The Golf runs a Precision 50 trim. No idea on boost and power. The E30 is swapped with a stroked motor and makes gobs of power. No idea on boost, though. Power should be in the 700's. All three are street cars and (for the most part) daily driven. |

No personal experience but pretty much all the Supras around here run Precision turbos and 2 of them have seen a couple track days without issues.
My main gripe with them is they don't have compressor maps for anything they build. :vash: |

Well here it is, a Precision 5558 installed with a external waste gate. I went with a log style manifold, which makes checking the nuts inbetween each run a breeze and everything I read the difference between it and a long runner was minimal, and I would much rather be able to access the flange nuts, makes life much easier at the track.
Kris at KO Racing in Oregon city did the fab work, man can that guy lay a pretty bead, looks like a robot welded it. We designed the flange location so no frame cutting was required, easy turbo flange nut access. The down pipe is split with a V band down by the bellhousing so the trans can be removed without messing with the turbo and stuff above. V banded everything except the turbo flange which could have been done but would have had to notch the frame and with the easy access went with the flange mount. Installed the daul psi manual controller and have a button on the left spoke of the steering wheel [we call it the porsche button] which I can press on the straights and it is set to change from 17 psi to 20 psi. I have flogged the car 2 full track days so far and everything has been flawless, the car is very fast. It ran a little hot the 2 nd day as the air temp got near 90* with high humitity so am redoing the nose and the duct work with a splitter, something like crusher style. The car dyno'd at 317 whp @ 17 psi and 340 whp @ 20 psi, now I need a Giken diff. in the corners. Here is a link to the build along with some dyno charts. We well be making jigs this winter if everything keeps working as expected for the remainder of the track season so Kris well have this as something to be purchased. I remember KO Racing from back when I had a MR2 Turbo. They were always great products that produced results. Good to see them moving into a new market.

Yes Kris is still the main MR2 place in the country, but he is an outstanding tuner and helped for many years with the development of the Hydra ECU which is how I came upon him a few years back since I have had 2 FM11/Hydra setups. I would say he is one of the best in the country.

On John's recommendation, I had Kris tune my car this winter. He was a magician on the laptop and got me enough extra power to kill my clutch before we reached my target boost/power level. He was extremely knowledgable and took the time to explain all the theory and reasoning behind everything he adjusted. He joked about the interface of the adaptronic while he taught himself where all the controls were. While at his shop, I was also very impressed with the quality of his fabrication. A stand up guy with excellent skills for PNW owners of any marquee.

I know a guy that road raced and now drifts his E36 M3 with a precision turbo. Made 530whp on it till it died at a trackday event. We do have really hot track temps here in TX though. Hasn't had a problem since going borg-warner and says the power and powerband is drastically better. I also have friends that daily,street raced and drag raced with precision turbos that never had an issue. Personally I would rather run a water cooled chra if I planned on running a lot of trackday events per year.
