Aha, okay!
That Sparco Sprint I have my eyes on is looking better and better then. |
btw, that driver was a DE1 student. We had a combined DE2 and DE1 session. Not sure if the car had any extra safety stuff (this car also had a DE4 sticker), but his airbags deployed. The seats look stock, but I can't remember clearly. The driver was no where to be found, so we assumed he was in the ambulance (which did come out and leave after some time).
btw, I do not suggest harnesses on stock seats. if you need harnesses, then you need a fixed seat of some sort. plus I would think the harness would roll off your shoulders in any serious case since there is nothing to guide it. |
The Subie belonged to a DE4 guy and was driven by his buddy in DE1 or 2 at the time of the accident. They are both active on the NASA forum and have been discussing it in detail over there. There is a reason I drive a ~$2000 car on the track and not something really expensive. I couldn't afford the loss. Always plan on wrecking it and put seats and harnesses in with that expectation.

Track, don't dwell on others track crash's. Keep your car safe/build safe and keep your mind right.
