Race Trailer Insurance

Looking for a better race trailer insurance option. Currently have AllState, premium was $60 for the 1st 6-month term, but I just received my renewal offer and it has literally doubled to $120 for the next 6 month term. Nothing has changed on my end (no claims, accidents, or the like). So I'm looking to dump them for hopefully a better option. Current policy covers comp and collision with $200 deductibles (when I bought the policy, the deductible did not affect rate from $200-$1000, so why not).

Trailer is a 2009 Haulmark 24' Race with the standard stuff found in a race trailer, comps are listed in the $10-12k range used.

Any suggestions? If possible, I wouldn't mind adding a stored contents policy as well to cover my car/gear/tools when stored.

Geico covers my open trailer, made in 2011 about 2k value, for $22.50/6mo for comp & collision with a $100 deductible.

That's about what I paid for my open trailer.

Hmm. I was told that in NY, the trailer (not contents) were covered by the insurance from the vehicle that tows it. I wonder if this extends to comprehensive, or liability only. Think its time for a call to the insurance company.

My bigger concern is the trailer getting stolen while not hooked up to the car. That's basically the only reason I have coverage on it.

Yeah that's a good point.

This happen to one of the guys we paddock with last year... dude had E46 and tools in it - an easy 40K stolen and most likely never seen again. Lukily he had insurance, I think..

That is the scenario I am trying to protect myself against. I got an app from Kincaid Racing Insurance, who seems to specialize in race car / race trailer insurance. Car would be insured when in storage, pits, or transport. That's close to what I'm looking for. I already have comp and collision on the trailer, but the rate jumped from $120 / yr to $240 / yr, so I need to do something.
