Quick Disconnect Bumper Cap
I took off my bumper cap last night to redo my IC piping and decided it'd be a good idea to set up a quick disconnect system because the factory bolts are difficult to get to with the wheels on the car.
I know TSB had one, does anyone else? Please post pics if you've got 'em.

You can see mine here:
Link to the latch:

you also need the striker plate.
This eliminates the need for those two annoying nuts up on the inside of the bumper by the parking light on each side.
Also, there is usually a screw at the backmost point where the bumper meets front fender. This is hard to get a screwdriver on unless you jack the car up. So, I got rid of the screw, drilled the holes out to a bit larger diameter, and use a pin with a hole drilled in it through those holes with a cotter pin through the hole in the pin to hold it in place. This plus the latches make disconnecting both sides of the bumper a 15-second procedure. Then just a few 10mm nuts under the hood between the headlights and the bumper is off.

The bumper mounts independently of the splitter and behind-bumper ducting, so no the bumper doesn't connect to anything in the mouth area - it floats above the splitter. Stock, there's a plastic duct piece that connect the bumper mouth to the plastic undertray. I don't have this, but I'm pretty sure that's just a couple screws to disconnect it from the bumper mouth.
I don't have any pics of the inside of the bumper, but if I remember to I will try to snap one tomorrow.
A pic better explains why my bumper mouth doesn't connect to anything. The bumper just floats a mm away from the splitter and ducting:

They each disconnect from the tab on the splitter with one bolt/nut. Those struts have swivel joints on each end, so once its disconnected at one end they can be moved freely. So the bumper comes off without any hinderance.

Mine is held on by dzus fasteners. Right now it's 4 across the radiator support area and 1 in each corner with these brackets: http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS-Performan...oductId=763087

No problem. I was finishing it today anyways:
I didn't put anything at the bottom yet because I plan to build an air dam/splitter so I'm going to build tabs to keep that into place into that. I have not driven the car with this setup yet, but it seems solid.

They also sell a hex head version but I like the slotted better.

thanks mx5autoxer, I've got one on cr that I recently made to update the last few things I've done. http://clubroadster.net/vb_forum/showthread.php?t=44470 I didn't take any good pictures when I built the splitter unfortunately, this thread already has the two best shots showing the bumper/splitter. If you have questions about how it was made or anything though, I'll try to answer them.
