Schroth Clubman question

On the set I picked up used, the release mechanism is attached to the sub straps. These are my first harnesses. Is there any way to remove it from there? If it needs a permanent home on one of the straps I'd prefer it elsewhere.

Thanks!

Were you actually able to relocate the fixed point of the camlock? I was under the impression that fixed point wasn't changeable, as the Schroth buckles have different part numbers according to the attachment point. You can pop them off to help mounting or to switch camlocks, but aside from replacing the camlock itself I don't see how you could move it from the sub strap to a lap belt.

I have the Scroth Profi II - same camlock as in the video, and as far as I know, although you can disconnect the sub strap from the camlock to service it, I don't think you can set it up in a way that when you twist it it will release the sub strap and hold on to one of the others.

Personally, I prefer the camlock attached to the sub straps. My Sabelt harness is the same way. I've used other brands in other people's cars and always didn't care for having the weight of the camlock stuck to one of the lap belts when you disconnect. When it's attached to the sub strap its weight naturally pulls it right where you want to put it anyways - down.

I just put in the same belts this week, and that's what I thought. I've got a set of the FE buckles coming and I had to specify the fixed point when I ordered.

I didn't actually HAVE to relocate it, but I wanted to. Turns out as long as its removable (and quite simply) It's not an issue for me. Since it's removable I prefer this location
