Sway bar with stock suspension?
I am suppose to attend a time attack event with my Miata this sunday. (94 NA)
I have ordered xida-s a month ago, but due to some mix up regarding shipping at 949, I will not receive them untill monday. Found out 5min ago, I know I should have prepared better and ordered earlier because even if I did get it today, it would be tight scheduling, but I had to save up to buy these coilovers and sadly it's too late now... I have a RB tubular race swaybar which I was planning to install with the coils, but would it be ok now to install it without the coilovers and expect higher corner speed? or will it become a push pig? To help you know the amount of grip I will have, I will be running 225/45/15 bfgoodrich rivals OR 205/50/15 RE11A. (I just got the Rivals on 6UL today from phils tire, I am not sure if I can run these without messing up my fenders even though they are rolled because my car is a floppy dick. on stock suspension) Please let me know your experience. Any ideas/tips/criticism appreciated |
If the 225 Rivals are on 15X9, you will rub the stock springs with the wheels. A small 3-5mm spacer will fix this, but I wouldn't bother with your XIDAs coming in.

Ah. Thanks for letting me know. They are on 15X9 6UL, so I guess the set up will be 205 RE11A.
Any tips about sway bars, should I run with stock or with front RB tubular? |

I run my RB tube front sway (and rear RB bar as well) with stock suspension.
Though, i have an r package car. So i have the already better suspension. Go for it. |
I ran just the 1 1/8" Hollow RB with stock suspension and 15 X 9s w/225s and 3mm spacers, and it worked great! Do it!
