Tire pressure gauages
I have a crappy $5 dollar gauge.
I wanted to know what you folks suggest for a quality gauage. I was looking at the Long Acre delux gauage. Its about $45. I appreciate your input. Jeff |
doesnt really matter how accurate it is as long as its consistent

GRM did a test and writeup about tire gauges within the last year. The results - the el cheapo digital gauge was more reliable and consistent than the mechanical gauges (especially over varying ambient temperatures) , and good enough in almost every case.
Can probably find the article on their website. |
Thanks guys.
I need to know my shit is accurate though. Mine has been 10psi off. Thats a shit ton for me. Huge loss in grip ya know ;) |

I had a cheapo digital that was as accurate as my friend's $50 one. It worked great for awhile. The only problem is it couldn't handle bumps like the my friend. I left mine in the glove box for about a week and it never worked well again.

I have this one in the 0-60 version. It's been a great gauge for the past... damn, like 3 years. The blue rubber around the face has cracked badly, but the hose and gauge operation are fine.

I've used the longacre delux gauges without any issues. They were accurate enough in varying conditions that we never found a need to compensate from they're actual reading. Like any calibrated instrument though, don't let it get beat around in your trunk.

I use a Longacre 0-60, love it.

Got a Longacre Digital. So far so good.

Another Long Acre 0-4 bar (60-ish psi) fan! Well worth it.

We have a bunch of the Longacre analog gauges at the shop in 0-30 and 0-60 and they're great. All read within a lb of each other and in the ~5yrs I've worked there we've sent one out for an issue after it was dropped.

As long as I can bleed off from the device I'm happy. I need to get a pyro...
