Default Track audio/visual set up

If this is the wrong place for this thread please feel free to remove it.

I was wondering what everyone's audio/visual set up they use. This is my current setup that is attached to my roll bar:

- Go pro hero 6 black
- Go Pro tripod mount
Amazon Amazon

- Manfrotto super clamp
Amazon Amazon

I mounted my gopro in a horrible spot last time and caught more of my dashboard than I did of Palmer Motorsports Park. I've been messing around with it and using my phone to check the zoom before leaving to go on track. I would eventually like to start recording better videos and overlaying date over them, especially when I'm OKed to go on track alone. Also, with a stock exhaust I can barely hear anything with the internal mic. I know there's a GoPro dongle and external mic options.

What is your audio/visual setup?
What editing software do you use?
What race data do you use? Harrys? Racechrono?Trackaddict?

My data logger is an Autosport Labs Racecapture Track/Mk2 running on a Raspberry Pi. I have a 7" display for predictive lap timing and engine critical alarms. It handles logging everything over CAN bus from my MSPNP2, as well as steering angle from a custom sensor. I render out the data overlays with RaceRender. I'm pretty happy with the result, which is a relatively low budget option.

I use a GoPro Hero 7 Black on the rollbar, mounted at eye level. I fabbed up a custom bracket to get it where I wanted it. Make sure you either enable Spot Metering if your GoPro has it, or use Protune and set your EV down to -1 or -2 so the view out the window doesn't get blown out from the sun.

For data analysis I've moved exclusively to Track Attack. It stores everything in the cloud so you can share laps and all logged data amongst friends or team members.

The steering angle sensor uses a high precision linear potentiometer in a 3d printed housing I designed. The pot is connected to a 4 channel Analog voltage to CAN bus converter made by Autosport labs. A stable 5 volt reference voltage is supplied by the CAN converter card and the pot is set up as a voltage divider. I also have a brake pedal sensor that is set up the same way. The CAN card feeds onto the CAN bus and gets logged along with everything else.

thanks! I feel like my last events I was able to get the gopro more dialed in and mounted it in a much better position. I still need to get the routine and habit down of turning it on/off and setting it record while sitting in grid, but once I'm strapped down I'm not really thinking about it much. I might invest in a gopro remote and mount it on my radio delete so it's as easy as hitting record, instead of trying to turn around and hit the button. I'm also getting a little better at trimming the videos.
