Track-only clutch advise?
So my clutch is slipping slightly at high rpm. It's a street ACT kit.
The SM has a 4 puck that I like. Which 1.8 track only clutch? And which bearings to go with it? OEM MAZDA? I'll have the flywheel surfaced and check around for oil leaks. |
949's twin disc? Does it have to comply with any rules?
|
ACT HD unsprung 6-puck ceramic here... On the street it's awesome.
|
I looked back at my order history and it's an ACT HD pressure plate with street disk. Rated 231lbft. My cheapest route would be to throw in the 4-puck unprung. It would jump to 300lbft.
The 949 is nice but rather spend that money on aero :) Looking for info which bearings are best. |

Who has done track time on a Clutch Master FX500?
Looking for options that are actually available here... |

I'm going with a twin now that the engine is out. My biggest complaint is rev matching the down shifts with the stock flywheel seems a bit lagy to me. OEM pilot and through out bearing, and rear main seal with no problems. |
Go with OEM throw out and pilot bearings. As for clutch, 949 twin, or a 6puck cerametallic plate with extreme PP.

This shit is so full of win. http://949racing.com/ProductImages/9...win_clutch.jpg |
You won't regret that. The ability to snap off gear changes as fast as you can move the shifter is fantastic.
