Finally it is here, it is still BETA but it doesnt matter.
It used to be best phone laptimer that I know, so high hopes on this one. Go on and treat yourself, it's free.

i hope this works, the other lap timers for android are very hit and miss. for instance, trackmaster will work one session and then for no reason just stop working. I think it has to do with the line you take on Trackmaster, if you have points too close together the GPS looses the cars position and the app just guesses at a time.
the way you can change the trap widths here leads me to believe it will be accurate. Anyone know if you can use this in your pocket without issue? i submitted two texas tracks that were missing, ECR and MSR-C 3.1.

I use trackmaster, i had bad luck with it until I bought an external gps receiver, after that, they were close enough to the posted laptimes that it's good enough for me.
I think the bluetooth gps i bought was a qstarz 818xt.
The reason it worked better, for me, is that my phone's gps operates at 1 hz, so it logs position only once a second, the bluetooth one is 10hz (10 times a second, but I ran it at 5 hz with good results too)

I read on trackmaster forums that if the phone isn't powerful enough, it could have problems processing 10hz of data. What phones are your friends using?
I have an htc evo, not the greatest but it works alright.

This looks pretty awesome for guys like me who want just play a little with data acquisiton. I'm curious how accurate it is with the q818xt? I bet my times are all over the place since I'm pretty new to tracking my miata.
I'm pretty sure I'll eventually follow Emilio's advice and get a real data acquisition system later (throttle/steering/brake positions) but this seems like a decent stop gap w/ a $80 receiver. I guess the receiver can be useful for android navigation in the boonies too.

Here is list for tracks that you can download, if the list doesnt have the track your driving, it will draw the track while you drive it and you can send it to them to be added to the list.
