Lets talk Hoosier slicks
So what would be so bad about running the Ford Atlantic Hoosiers on the 9" UL? I'm at the point of getting some 275/35 Hoosiers, but what about some of the other Hoosiers? The 275/35 are 23x10.1, can you compare to the Hoosier 43570 which is the Ford Atlantic spec with a size of 23 x 9.5 R25B compound (soft). I can also find the 23.0 x 9.5-15 #43385 for $220/tire w/the R35A, R45B, R55A compounds (meant for the EP, GT3 class). I'm obviously still lacking the knowledge of different tires and esp. the compounds. I don't doubt that the size would be the problem, but if the compound only lasts for 1 track day, well then obviously that wouldn't be a wise choice... however, I bet they'd stick like glue!
Think I can get some 23.5x12's under cut and flared fenders with some spacers on a 15x9 UL? That would rock... as their clearance rack has them at $110/tire in the R35A rubber... still might be too wide on a 9" rims and that'd be a hell of a spacer to keep it off the suspension.
Also, they (meaning Hoosier) are having a discontinued sale on their road racing wets for $120/tire

I know nothing about Hoosiers, but whats wrong with the proven Toyo at a comparable price ($120/tire)?

As wets are concerned, I'll probably go with the Toyo RA1s as I can run them wet or dry.. dual purpose, great backup set. But the Hoosier wets are 0.5" less wide than the 275/35s, but not sure if the 'wider is better' applies to rain tires.

well, the 'standard' 275/35ZR15 we see peeps get for their 15x9 6ULs are 10.1" wide. My miata is a track only car. Not dragging it, just cornering it... and perhaps end of the year I'll have a built 1.8 to let me handle MOAR boost
