99 10AE daily driven CSP autocross build
Here are my goals. As much CSP mods as allowed, without removing any comforts or any permanent exterior mods. 160-180hp on the streets, just over 200hp on the track. Spare front lip and trunk lid to add aero. Dot r track tires on 9s. Coilovers with a good upper range and easy adjustments; I have a beat up gravel road that punishes me daily. My budget is under $10k, which seems very easily doable. I am currently stock except for Cali cat delete, nb2 manifold, and braided clutch line. 85k miles.
My first question. Turbo seems easier and cheaper. I really like the idea of a super if it's reasonable and reliable. I've heard bad Miata super stories. I don't want a maintenance monster! I do want low end hp, which usually favors the super. Likely biased hp curves I've seen suggest there is little difference. Who doesn't like the sound of a turbo? Which system should I go with? I can fab, but like turnkey too.
Pick my system. I would likely select a full mkturbo kit if I went that direction. Super, I have no idea. Options are pretty scarce on an nb without spending a few extra thousand which isn't going to happen. I really want the forced induction side to be under $5k!
Again, I'm happy to fab if I need to build a cheaper super setup. I don't see any real possible savings on a fabing vs mkturbo, especially if I decide on adding ignition coil control. Turbo just seems easier so convince me otherwise if needed!

CSP doesn't allow adding forced induction, unless you're running in a club with a unique ruleset. Always love a good CSP build though, those cars are nasty. Bill Schenker's 10AE was/is a huge inspiration for me.

Based on your description, you're going to want to look at SSM or XB. I'm not sure on the exact SSM restrictions, but it sounds like what you're talking about way more than CSP.
Rulebooks are available online, you'd do yourself a favor to read through one before you set your car up in an illegal way.

I'm not sure I understand this comment. At least in my region for autocross, it's first come first serve regardless of what class you're driving.
Some of our fastest drivers who have done well at nationals are in XA. I think XA/B are very attractive classes for people who aren't trying to build a car solely for autocross. ST classes are great but limited on power adders, which sounds like something the OP is set on.

No to be a downer, but no. Your list will end up closer to 2x that figure. As Scott mentioned, turbos not legal in CSP. Definitely read rules in their entirety if being competitive in your chosen class in important to you. Other wise just have fun building, tuning and run whatever class they stick you in.
