Who's using a Trackspeed dual row Radiator?
I'm hoping to hear some real world experiences with the trackspeed dual row radiator, are any of you running them. Particularly, I am hoping to hear from some of you that use it in hotter climates. Can anyone give me a firm idea of how well it cools compared to a basic koyo radiator? My car uses what appears to be a 55mm koyo from track dog racing.
i say appears, because it doesn't have any trackdog labels on it, but does say Koyo. The car spec sheet from the builder lists the trackdog racing as the radiator used. I'd like to know what sort of temp decrease you guys saw as in in similar conditions. i mean as example, "the car ran 10 degrees cooler on the fat trackspeed rad than my old Koyo." I know i should have a reroute installed, no it doesn't have one. I'm thinking a better radiator might have more benefit for cooling than the reroute would to start with. Plus the reroute looks to be a bitch to install with the engine in the car. I just installed a TSE unit after having overheating issues with my Koyo 37mm in hot SoCal weather at Buttonwillow. Ran the TSE for the 1st time this past weekend at ACS with no issues what so ever, after I fixed a cursed drain plug issue. Granted ACS was significantly cooler than Buttonwillow. Buttonwillow peak temps were around 230 degrees, ACS I got up to around 200 degrees on my analog gauge. The 200 degree temps were also only at full throttle towards the end of the front straight (WOT for 45 seconds). Once I got into the infield, it would drop down to 185-190 level.
I would say the TSE unit is approximately a 15-20 degree drop over my previous Koyo. Loving it so far. |

If it is the big Koyo, it should have some resell value. Whatever you are running in there, make sure to duct it properly. Even the magical TSE unit will struggle at 100* ambient (track/high power level, etc.) if the air is just going around it.

Add re-route too if you ain't got it...

I never had the Koyo to compare, but I did Buttonwillow in October. Temps were probably in the mid 80's. It stayed 190-195 on track, 203 when sitting in the paddock.
I have a reroute, but barely stock ducting. The bottom tray is intact, but the one that is behind the "mouth" is mostly beer boxes. |
