Xidas, what spring rate?
What spring rates do you recommend?
2002 SE Miata with all accessories, 6 speed, torsen, ABS, PW, PDL, etc VVT engine is stock, I’m guessing 2,650# with driver 15” x 9’ 6ULs 225 RS3s (anticipate moving to NT -01s when I get faster) Energy suspension bushings going on with coil overs As far as driving experience I’d say I am a fast beginner (about 7-8 track days) RB 1 1/8” hollow front bar with 949 end links and new poly bushings, and the RB block thingy to stiffen things up MSM 14 mm bar and 949 endlinks and poly bushings to go on w/coil overs Hard dog hard core DD bar with harness bar I also have Hard dog door bars not installed yet At the track I remove the spare and the passenger seat for weight reduction My wife still likes to drive it in the summer, but if it gets to unbearable maybe I’ll have to get her something else to drive Thanks! |
700/400 or nothing at all. I have 600/400 on my daily and 800/500 on my track car.
It would be a terrible idea to call the guy who sells them, tell him your current setup and goals, and ask his advice.
I've actually emailed him, but have yet to hear back. But thanks! I'm guessing his wife doesn't drive his cars on the street much. I was hoping to hear some experiences from those of you who's significant others have. My thought was 700/400, but it's nice to get some opinions

Find someone with xidas locally and get a ride. Go from there.
I been trying to do that myself with no luck tho :( |

On my E30 with custom vavled Koni's I ran 550/750 (mac strut front, semi-trailing arm rear) and the wife never complained of ride quality even on 40 series tires on 17s. |
When you call emillio he's most likely going to tell you 700/400 since you drive hard and are on street tires.
I have 700/400, gf doesn't complain. her car is a camry
Looks like 700/400 is it. And they are in stock!
Call and make sure they're actually in stock. I ordered last year at this time and the website said they were in, I didnt get them until like 3 events into the season (beginning or april/end of may) because everyone in the world ordered them at the same time and Emillio just couldnt get them made up fast enough. And at the same time 700lb springs went on national back order with hyperco, eibach, and sprint so I ended up getting 650s.
But this is what happens with small suppliers making you one of the best suspension you can buy for a miata. It was worth the wait, hassle, and price. |
It's done! Emilio is getting an order in tomorrow AM. I ordered a couple of minutes ago. 700/400 dual springs. Chicago area weather should improve soon and I want to get them in with my ES poly bushings, my Hard dog door bars, and MSM rear sway before the HPDEs start around here.
The ride quality even at 700/400 is awesome. And the performance at the track is insane.

700/400 is win. Even for fat cars like ours.
Shits cray as fuck, ya'll.
Emilio's description says 700/400 for most cars...and 800/500 for a track only car (R-comps and aero)
Emilio.
