Fea, both systems could have empty hydraulic chambers at start up. If those chambers are fully collapsing without engine oil the you would hear the effect. Just my two cents.

I tore everything out from behind the dash EXCEPT the blower. I used corrugated ducting to send the air through the defroster vents but you could just as easily do send it to your vent or floor.
