Talk about misinformation...The Wiseco parts should come with rings in the set, you don't need "custom" rings as they are standard off-the-shelf parts for whatever .5'' increment bore size you get.

WPC is not a coating, it's a micro peening process. I'd recommend it on all your bearings at the very least, everything if you can afford it (though it is pretty darn cheap).

I've done this before for a 2.25'' to 2'' 90 deg coupler before because I was in a pinch and it worked great. It's hard to make it look nice though.

No one will make only 1 piston, it all comes down to fixturing and manufacturing. You can order a set of 2, but there is a small upcharge. I would recommend picking up the shelf parts at 9:1...
