I'm hoping a 225/45 VR-1 is available by the time my RS3's are finally done. I just want to give Maxxis my money haha.
Seriously. I want to buy Maxxis for my next set of EHP tires to complement my set of wheels with RC-1s. Maybe we'll get lucky and get some news from @ot81to.

225/45ZR15 VR-1's are in the works. Possibly here by Fall.
They're fat. Tread measured out 10mm wider than gen 1 Rival-S, 5mm wider than RC-1. Interesting.
A set of gen 2 Rival-S on their way so we can compare the two.
Now I discover that. Argh.
Odd that they are molded to 9/32. Might be a good Chump/WRL/Lemons tire since they run wide and have so much rubber.
I'll order a set of the Sur4G's when they become available.
"Nexen N FERA SUR4G:
Nexen is serious about their motorsports entry and is already updating their tire. No word yet as to test data, but it's expected out in March 2017 and if it improves upon the SUR4, will be very quick indeed. There was an article in SportsCar (SCCA's club magazine) about Nexen's tire testing in development of the SUR4G, and the testers all came away impressed with several of the prototypes."

Jason Isley and Bryan Heitkotter were involved in the development testing on the new "G-Spot" Nexen...both highly accomplished autocrossers and road racers. Isley writes for Sports Car, thus the dev article. Both have been mum on the results, so far.
The 9/32nds is not universal across the line...some sizes are 7.5/32nds. The difference, according to my sources, is for sizes they expect to be used in drifting...so longer wear. Congrats, Emilio...now yer a dorifto.

Subscribed. I'm interested to see how long these might last for the enduro crowd, but I'm mainly here because of all the winning on the first page of the thread.

We're waiting for a set of the Sur4G to checkout, which is more likely to be a Super200. The Sur4's we have are going on to a street car and won't be tested or even evaluated.
