Yeah, I know I've just been too lazy to make a new intake setup. I'll get around to it before my next track weekend though.

Update on the NC louvers in the NB:
- They do intersect with the main "A" bracing that runs from the rear corners to the front latch area, but they don't interfere with any of the perimeter bracing.
- Their curve matches the curve of the NB hood bulge very nicely.
- Hood prop and hood latch remain funtional.

This is what I'm afraid of, I have the same setup, but I have zero place to put the intake filter because the flip up headlights and A/C compressor are in the way.

Your vents are everywhere!

edit: wtf, auto-embedded instagram posts

Yessir, Jager Racing commissioned us to do a custom set for their wasp carbon hood based off their pressure data gathered from that car. Those will be available to the STi market July-ish.

Just a small suggestion. On the template, put a thin black line delineating the extra you need to cut the openings if you want to use the edge trim. Guesstimating a 1/16" all the way around is a good way to make the lines uneven, IMHO.

Other than that small quibble, I am pretty impressed by the parts themselves.

Please make an NC vent template for NB hood.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll look into something designating the small difference.

If someone bought an NC hood louver kit and requested a template for an NB, I have no problem making that happen ;)

my hood vents worked excellent in 95* air temperatures. motor got a little hot to 190 (normally it sits at 170). I never had to let it cool.

I also got conformation that the hood vents work. as my power steering overheated, and spit fluid all over my windshield and wing. lol.

As far as we know this has not been done yet. However, we expect the louvers would be too wide if placed correctly and interfere with the pop up headlights. The NB does not have this issue.

thank you sir! it has a lot of blood sweat and tears in it. mostly blood and sweat....

The only thing I wish is that the finish wasn't so "spotty" looking. I may cover everything up under the hood and on top and hit them with a coat of fresh black one day, certainly not a big deal.

ThePass 03-07-2016 11:58 AM

Looks great!

Yes, the black anodize doesn't have the nice smooth gloss look of a nice paint or powdercoat, but any paint will adhere right to it with no problems so it can be painted however you like, and it's much easier to paint with the black undercoat rather than bare aluminum.

Yea, it does have a nice textured feel so I may try to rattlecan them. Feel free to use the photos on your website if you wish, or I can send some better ones your way soon. I know a bunch of people (myself included) were wondering how the NC pieces look on the NB, and those stickered up racecars are a bit hard to judge by.
