I like the way they follow the underhood bracing on the nb. Really looks good from the pictures i have seen.

However, i cant seem to find any write ups of install or detailed pictures/close ups.

Eith my engine swap car, ill only be able to use the four outside vents, not the center. In addition, i want to make a pair to fill in the bracing at the back end of the hood, which is a higher pressure area. These will be to feed the air filters. Fronts will be to aid in underhood pressure release, and hopefully add some more cooling system headroom.

Anyway, can you guys post some pictures of the details of install, final close up appearance, and maybe even how they are cut and shipped?

Cut between the braces, rivet them to the hood. That's about all there is too it. They are laser cut I assume, shipped flat and you DIY bend them to your angle of preference.

 

FWIW R-Theory is on a temporary (permanent) hiatus.

I have a friend who is "making" his own vents on his hood by cutting and bending the factory hood where he wants the vents to be. If you're up for some DIY'ing, you could do that in the R Theory locations plus your desired ones at the back of the hood.

 

tell your friend to make a thread, I just picked up an extra NA hood to vent and would love as many DIY options as possible

 

for me, my hood is already cut. did it in wide open, and then realized how much if the race car hite engine bay shines out of the holes, thereby making it pretty ugly. the louvers/vents will help with flow as well as camouflaging the underhood.

 

Its very easy. Use a dremel(slow, but cleaner and less risk of messing up) or angle grinder(faster, more chance of messing up) to cut out the underhood "skeleton". Then cut slots in the hood skin as needed. Space the vents with welding/aluminum rod. If you can TIG, TIG them into place. If not, a dab of silicone or JB weld does the job. Use some slit vaccume line to clean up the edges of the vents for a more professional/finished look.
Hood pins are HIGHLY recommended after cutting out the skeleton.
