Default 275/35/15 Nankang AR-1 100TW

Looks official. Who is going to be the first to mount these on a street car?

I called them about an hour ago, they don't have them. Said their next shipment is in two months but unsure if it will be available then. You can bet I'll be putting them on the Exo as soon as I can get my hands on some.

When I can buy them, and appropriate wheels for them, I think they're going on my car.

After tracking the LS swap a few times I think these will be key to get me to the pointy end of a few classes. There is also the new CR1 that's coming out from Nanking and we can only hope it's the same rubber with a few more grooves on them. Had I known I could have looked at them last weekend at Grid Life, Jackie Ding had them on his supra before anyone else could get their hands on them (questionable rule violation). Assuming they make them in the same sizes as the AR1 we could have a new contender for the 200tw crowd along with the AR1.

Should be 11", based on how the 245/40 AR1 fits on a 10. They will work on 10's though, just better on 11's.

We have not produced wheels since Q3/2017. Don't wait for us as we have nothing in the works currently.

Custom wheels or maybe some other company could be coerced into doing a run. We're focused on other projects for a while.

I placed an order and got an email back saying they're estimating 3-4 months.

I believe the ruling was that they are available. Jackie just had the funds to have his order shipped (air freight?) over while many are sitting on docks waiting for boats.

he hinted at me that they're not quite the same compound, and look like an ao52 clone...

with his success on them this year i think we'd have a real tire on our hands... and mine so i can keep my 2% advantage over the ar1 in gltc.

I have a hard time accepting the opinion that the new nankang cr1 is in A052 clone. Nanking is probably a decade and a half behind Yokohama in terms of tire technology and compounding. Impossible for them to make a tire at the same level. if they make a tire that will match it in terms of raw grip, it won't last as long, have a shorter heat cycle life, be more difficult to drive at the limit, not steer as well, but it'll course be cheap because it's made in China.

They're made in the ROC, not the PRC. Or at least the 18s are, based on the "Made in Taiwan" stamp on the sidewall.

note i said "look like"... nothing to do with compound - just the tread pattern...

How long ago did you order them and from where? And of course, please post pics when you get them mounted!

What wheels, offset and spacers are you using?

Ordered them Monday night(9/28) from Phil’s, they shipped on Wednesday.

15x10 -25 no spacers, currently have a 275/50/15 in the rear.

What wheels are you running that come in that offset? I've never seen anything but custom wheels in 15x10 -25.
