Need help..🙏1.6 build with new ITM pistons&rings,i need the gap clearence
Hello, i build an b6 with new pistons,rings,bearings,rods,etc..
it is all fine..but i don't know, the piston ring gap clearence for the itm ry6332-020 kit.
The Motor was build in an motorshop, and they lost to check the gap clearence..know i will build it for myself.
The 1.6 has an gtr25 turbo and must boost to 16-20 psi or ca 1,2/1.3bar.(will have 300+hp at wheels)..which clearence i have too build/check❓
Thx a lot guys
From ITM Company i got no emailanswhere 😒

Wait, wait, wait...
GT25 what 26psi? You don't want to bake buns in your intake. I have a Garrett 2560R, 18psi and that thing is creating tons of heat already.
I took a quick look on your pistons and can't even find compression numbers on these cast pistons. At 30 $ a piston, I don't think you want to run 300whp+ on these, just as a side note.
Ring gap should be around 0.017" top and 0.020" second ring. Don't go too tight

Ok,what do you think ,i can run with this pistons?
I heart, that with oem pistons 350-400 hp will go.
But this are cheaper pistons,and i think 300 @crank will go..or what?
Is der vierte aus deutschland or only an nick?
Too tight of a ring gap is what usually breaks pistons. Or detonation, of course. Either way, heat is bad, and 26psi on a gt2560 is a bad idea.
I built my motor to the loose side of the OE ring gap specs FWIW.

0.017" or 0.020"❓
My turbo can handle 1.6bar max.
I will go to 1.2/1.3bar. that will be maybe 320hp 🤔✌️
