Default Best LSD For Miata

Hello! I have a 2004 Miata that I was prepping for SM so I purchased a 4.3 Torsen for it. But me being more of a builder am now wanting to go more TT/nasa ST5. Would there be a better LSD for me or should I just stick with the 4.3 torsen for now?

Thanks!

Os Giken super lock is nice if you can afford one.

I run a Tomei trax 1.5 way in my K24 swapped car and love it. A buddy of mine that builds/rebuilds lots of miata diffs recommended it over the OS Giken for my power level, I can't speak to how the two compare, but it's lightyears better than a torsen.

Torsen works well enough to get started. They do require service after a while though. Thrust washers wear down and they stop doing Torsen things. If you think you might be changing the ratio in the diff later on, that would be a good time to plan an upgrade to a clutch type diff. For clutch type diffs, the OS Giken is head and shoulders above the rest.

If you have the budget to throw money at it and would rather just do the job once, put the OSG in it now. I would also recommend figuring out what your peak RPM is gonna be and what transmission so you can calculate what diff ratio you need.

@Emilio: Any tutorial/part list for a torsen refresh? Seems to be some sort of black magic from what I found in my researchs...
Thanks!

None that I know of. We use Walters Motorsports. I think there are 1 or 2 spec miata specialists that can do the work as well.
