Default oil return with out pulling the engine

So I have a silly question, how hard is it to add an oil return with out pulling the engine? does any one have a suggestion on where to place it?

It's commonly done. Use a piece of rubber hose over the drill so you don't go too deep.
Grease up and clean the drill/tap frequently to grab as many metal shavings as possible.
Change the oil right after.

Would I do it on an engine that was fresh? Hell no.
Was it fine for my high-mileage, unknown history 1.6L? Absolutely.

You can see mine done around the 4:00 minute mark here:

I like to put the exhaust air hose of a shopvac into the oil filler hole and leave it running while drilling. Wear goggles.

Did it on my 1.6 years ago, ended up getting shavings in the pan despite taking ALL precautions and it resulted in shavings sticking my oil pressure relief valve OPEN (meaning no oil pressure) and I smoked my bearings warming it up in the driveway not realizing I had no pressure

Not worth it in my opinion, but your mileage may vary

I did one while engine was still in car. I used air pressure, greasy bit and after tapping I bent a few Q-tips and hunted around inside the hole for chips
It took about four q-tips before they were coming out clean.
I did pour a little mineral spirits in there to flush anything out the drain too
