Default NB Tune Analyze Live no cell changes

I am going to need help after all.

2003 NB Miata SE: MS3Pro PNP, Innovate LC-2 wideband on Analog in2, DW200 fuel pump, FlowForce 623.8 injectors, Bosch R8 coils, GM IAT.

This is my first time with a programmable ECU.

I am preparing for turbo. I'd like to get it running ok with the gear that's installed before I move on to boost. It starts, it idles, it drives, but as the rpms free fall it won't hold idle, it dies. I tried Tune Analyze Live for the idle and the VE table 1. I was getting a "current filter: idle VE active" most of the time. I think I'm missing something. Could y'all take a look?

Fairly basic rule of thumb: don't autotune idle area. It tends to oscillate drastically. As Ted75zcar said, you had idle VE on, which until you have a fully tuned fuel map, shouldn't be activated. Case in point, your idle VE table was around 54, your fuel table in the same area was around 51, so every time you entered/exited idle, it was adding/losing 6% fuel.

You have a pretty terrible base map. Air density was pulling way too much fuel with higher IATs, you had individual fuel trims pulling/adding lots of fuel randomly, and your ignition table is way too advanced, especially in boost. I fixed a few of these things, but mainly just turned OFF idle ve, and turned ON EGO correction. This will put your fueling in a closed loop cycle at idle, which for some reason works when VEAL doesn't. I only gave EGO 10% authority in the idle region, the rest of the map is up to you/your tuner.

Once warm and idling, look at "EGO correction 1" gauge, and you should see a number around 100%. If it's higher than 100, it's adding fuel, lower than 100, it's subtracting fuel. I try to idling in the high 90s. So if it says 110%, select the cell you're idling in and a few around it, and multiply it by 1.10. Keep doing this until it's idling around 96-100% and move on to fixing the rest of the tune.

Edit: you already stated what to do next. I'll do that and get back.

Wow! Thanks!

So, it still dies but not every time. I caught it on a log, see below.

Should I continue to go through the Tune Analyze Live process from here? Do you want to go back and forth and work through it? Should I take it to a tuner? Or should I go ahead and pull the motor, put the rest of my parts on, and take it to a tuner because it's all going to change drastically anyway? (I am assuming the hardware is functioning properly and the tune isn't perfect yet?)

I know a little bit about a lot of things. I wasn't planning on becoming an expert on the tuning side of this. I'm definitely going to have a pro dyno tune it after I install the turbo.

I can't thank you enough! I edited the cells around idle based on the ego correction like you said and, bam! it doesn't die. I'm going to drive it a couple times this week before pulling the motor and installing the last batch of parts. I'm so excited for boost....

Glad it helped. Looks like your wideband was cutting in/out during that log, and for the one bit that you did do WOT for, your target is 12.7 (good, maybe a bit rich), but your actual AFR is 13.4. Make sure your req fuel, dead times, and other engine constraints are correct, then start running VEAL to dial in your fuel table. It looks way off currently.
