I need an NB2 6-speed shifter for the track
As far as I'm aware of, no. There's plenty of info on Miata Roadster's short shifter site about tip and bushing diameters. All of their shifters are the same diameter, they just offer different sized bushings for earlier v. later 6-speeds.
Yes. MiataRoadster makes a bushing that would fit at NB1 shifter in a NB2 receptacle. They use the NB1 shifter ball on all their shifters and just make a smaller ID bushing for NB2 receptacle.
I ordered the necessary bushing from MiataRoadsters.
I also did some poking around their website, and researching their shifters. It seems everyone is pretty happy with them, especially the extended length, curved offering, but I also noticed there were quite a few put up for sale used over the years. Does anyone have experience with both the standard and extended length versions and would like to offer a recommendation or warning.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I've used both the standard and extended angled versions on the same transmission. The standard version required more force to move the shifter than I was comfortable with. However, it was a street/track car at the time so not having the shifter in the way was the compromise. Once I went full race car, I acquired a used extended angled to get the shifter closer to the wheel. Since its a longer moment arm, it requires less effort. I have only driven the car in anger a few times since the change, but so far, I am happy with the change.
Yeah, I have used both, same response as Midtenn. Currently using a tall angled, with the angle pointing sideways towards the steering wheel in the dual-duty RGM. If i did more track time I would get a long (SM?) '****, as I currently use the Voodoo ball with recessed thread, and something like the long SM **** would make the ****-shifter movement quite small and fast. Recommended.

Bill from MiataRoadster strongly recommended the tall-angled shifter but I thought it looked ridiculous and bought the short version too (got a good price for the 2nd hand short-shifter).
The short version is better than the OEM shifter but took a lot of effort to get into reverse.
I then bought the tall-angled version and it's MUCH better, less effort to shift into any gear and you don't even notice that reverse requires more effort to engage.
I use a VooDoo **** which feels great - being round means that I can grip it how I want, the angle is not an issue.
In the Aussie sun, the black VooDoo **** gets REALLY hot when you leave the top down and leave the car for a few minutes - definitely NOT recommended for pussies!
I still thought the chrome tall-angled shifter looked ridiculous so cladded it with black heatshrink; now it doesn't stand out, looking like it's been bent by someone.
Thanks to everyone for chiming in.
A friend and old time Corvette driver/racer told me there's a universal fix for that. I smiled and "Sure there is". He told me if I was having trouble getting into Reverse, to put it in Second, let the clutch out a bit, then go into Reverse. That's worked pretty well for me as I was having problems getting into Reverse with a stock shifter.
I don't know why anyone would have a metal ball on top of a metal rod whose other end is bathed by hot gear oil. I replaced my Voodoo **** with a 2" delrin version years ago. Way gooder.
I did order the angled version, but have not received it yet. I ordered it brushed, as I did not want anything on the shaft that would make it more difficult to install or remove the boots. My car is five different colors and has several dents. I'm all about function over looks.
