Im wrapping up mt turbo rebuild. Its a T25G from a redtop SR20DET. As I was cleaning the threads for the wastegate I may have punched the thread chaser through the compressor housing. I need to extract the broken bolt in the other hole, but if the hole in this housing was cause by me(it probably was), what should I do? does anyone have an extra used T25G redtop compressor housing if mine isnt saveable? I contacted a machine shop and they said they could repair this, but if its not worth running I wont even bother trying to fix it.
Guess I cooked it bad then huh, Ill see with plugging it, would welding it be a viable strategy at all? Id still like to have a wastegate, Mr. Kraken said that I wouldnt need an adjustable bracket with this turbo and his manifold
Hopefully ill have enough money to get this thing turboed by the end of winter. Alr got the poly bushings in, ECU is done, reroute is in the mail. I just need go get the kraken mani and downpipe, slighly modify the cast elbow, add water and coolant lines.
Wheres the best place to return the water on a 1.8? Im getting the 949 reroute kit to go with my crossflow. I can pull the water from that. Also thinking of deleting the front neck too. Am I able to tee off the extra water feed port on the reroute to both the factory oil cooler and the turbo, then return both to the mixing manifold?
Hi, I got my reroute mostly on and the turbo is on the manifold. What is the best way top run the oil lines? Sandwich plate and feed off of that or feed thru the oil pressure switch?
Also, turns out my turbo wasnt a standard T25 but a freak Big-28. It has 2860 compressor and turbine wheels in a T25G cart and housings that were machined for them
