Default New NGK plaugs not stamped on ring

Gents,

I went searching for new plugs today. All the NGKs I've ever used have something stamped on the ring just above the threaded portion, such as "ASSEMBLED IN U.S.A. FROM JAPANESE PARTS" or "/ / / / JAPAN / / / /". All the used NGK Iridiums I have in the garage have the stampings. I went to almost all the O'Reilly, Advance, and Autozones nearby and all the rings are blank. Is that the new normal?

Thanks,

Considering you checked several sources that are highly unlikely to have counterfeit plugs, I’d say it is normal.

Does it matter…? Should likely still say on the box where they were produced.
