99--00 or 01up brakes
99 nb. Putting sport brakes (calipers and rotors) on during rebuild.
So, do i remove the 99-00 brake booster, master, and lines and replace with the more available 01-05? I have three master/booster/prop valve combos from 99-00, and only 1 form 01-05, but the 01-05 gets me a dual diaphragm booster and ability to run any size master i could realistically want. I have both options and all associated parts here. Both sets of masters are the 7/8 stamping.

Yes. That thread, and finding limited availability of replacement 99 master cylinders is what pushed me to make this thread. I think long term, swapping to the 01 up hard lines and prop valve/master makes the most sense.
now that I've slept on it.
Dammit I hate to redo work.

You may have already read my replies on the Keith Tanner thread. The 15/16" master and associated booster give a nice upgrade to pedal feel. The smaller NB2 "Sport" booster when paired with the bigger master gives similar pedal effort to stock NB1, but with less pedal travel, at least when staying with the stock calipers and discs, as I did. It was an upgrade that I feel was well worth the effort for the improved pedal feel it gave me. The bigger, double-diaphragm booster would give you less pedal effort.
I only had to massage the stock hard lines a little (read: "bent with pliers") to make everything fit on my non-ABS car. If I were willing and able to mess around with redoing lines and experimenting more, I would've put a 1" master on mine. I suspect it would pair nicely with the double diaphragm booster.
Regarding availability: my understanding is that NB1 brakes are the same as 94-97 NA 1.8 brakes. I wouldn't expect an issue with finding parts, if that's what you want.
