At my track day last Friday, during one of my sessions my short version of the 6 speed miata roadster short shifter snapped right where the threads start. I was just curious if anyone else has had this failure. I've emailed them to see if they will warranty it.

 

Nevermind, I looked at my invoice which had a disclaimer about not using my shifter exactly how i used it, so I'm just dumb.

 

Hmm. How did you use it? Hard to believe it snapped at the threads.

 

I got the 'short' shaft and stuck a 4" shift **** on it for track days and had a little stubby shift **** for day to day driving which is much less annoying. His invoice to me a year ago has a disclaimer that he had received responses that people doing exactly that were snapping the shafts at the threads, I just missed it and/or forgot about it.

 

Might want to consider using your left hand when masturbating in future, you're in danger of snapping "the old fella" too :P
