Default HKS Turbo Setup for an NB Mx-5

I have an 1998 JDM NB1, it's got a 1.8, 6 speed and a Torsen.
So far I've: Changed the brakes - EBC Yellow Stuff Pads, new discs, rotors and braided brake lines,
15" sport wheels with Nangkang NS-2Rs,
M2 Backbox,
Meister R ZetaCRD Coilovers,
Stoney Racing Coolant Hose kit and an Aluminium Rad, TB and Water Pump also done.
I've bought a HKS Turbo kit from the early 2000s, comes with a T25 Turbo with a top mounted manifold, down pipe, oil feed lines, , I won't be using the FCON Mini ECU Piggyback system, I'll run a standalone, also have a Blow Off Valve.
Looks like I'll need to delete PowerSteering and AC to fit an intercooler + the pipework, was thinking of picking up a kit off Ebay that should line up.
Will also need to upgrade the clutch - should i change the flywheel too?
Lastly - ECU, got in touch with a well regarded tuner who said he only works on Link ECUs, that's working out to be very expensive (but possibly worth it), heard a few guys use someone else who does the tune remotely, might try get in touch with him.
Any suggestions?
Can this be done on a reasonable budget or would I be better off just buying a kit off BOFI?

You shouldn't need to delete ps/ac if you're going to buy an intercooler kit.
Clutch - yes, flywheel - nope unless you want to spend extra money.
MT would likely recommend MS, but even moreso they'd recommend whatever your tuner can do. If you get an ecu that your tuner can't tune, then what's the point.
Reasonable budget = variable. Some say $10k is reasonable (haha), and some think <$1500 is reasonable.

some also think free is reasonable. Very wide range that is entirely subjective these days

I'd send it with the HKS kit, why not? Show us some pics of that kit so we can see what you are working with. I don't remember seeing a HKS kit even way back in the day.

And yeah, MS or Link for ECU, or really whatever you or your tuner are comfortable with. Some kind of front mount air to air intercooler, even Chinese is OK here. Larger ev14 style injectors and a fuel pump upgrade as well. That should get you in the easy 200whp range.

Sounds doable, but on a tight budget it’ll be tricky—custom turbo setups often end up costing more than a ready-made kit like BOFI’s, especially with clutch/flywheel, AC/PS deletes, intercooler fitment, and standalone ECU tuning. Upgrading the flywheel with the clutch is generally recommended.
