Default Bad vtps signal

I have the bofi racing e36 vtps on my 90 Miata with a ms2 and it’s been giving me a lot of problems. I keep on getting a very jumpy signal from it. It won’t stay constant jumps up and down quite a bit. Should I just assume the sensor is bad and get a different one like the one from speedyefi? Not sure what other alternatives I have and I am not entirely sure how I could test the sensor. It’s important to note that I did have to extend the plug because I’m running a supercharger that relocates the throttle body. Any ideas on where I could start?
I did try redoing the connections I made.

I’ve seen these installed incorrectly, there should be no play between the sensor and the adapter. If there is, it’ll just vibrate and give a lot of noise. Typically TPS have a very light return spring, and you should have to push past it barely to get the 2 screws in.

Didn’t seem to be any play to me at all. Also the actual TPS sensor itself has no return spring in it at all. It just moves around freely.

The bmw sensors might not have a return spring. Take it off and manually move it while looking at the signal, it should move smoothly and consistently. If it is, you have to look into the adapter and throttle body more. If not, it’s a sensor/wiring issue.
