Car cutout on me a couple of days ago, couldnt start it for 5 minutes, fiddled with the TEC2 wires incase of a lose one (just been over a bumpy road). Car started up and drove fine home!

The TECII monitor screen states a 'intermitant fail' for 'TPS' have heard it is a common fault. The car car starts up fine but I dont want to drive it till I'm happy its sorted incase of a breakdown further from home. any help advice would be great.
