Emelio!
I've been running my HPDE track tires - 205/50/15's on an old set of 15x6.5 motegi tracklites I bought CHEAP. What is the ideal width rim for 205/50 R-compound tires? These would be track day only - don't run the R-comps on the street. For a hack driver like me what can I expect to gain with the wider rim?
As I'm the cheapest guy around and these would be track day only - you don't happen to have any 2nds, returns, scratched, banged up but straight, etc. wheels around?!? Feel free to PM about wheels you might have like this.

Emelio!
Can you educate us a little on performance regarding tire and rim width relationships! Really do want your input, opinions, impressions and stats on any testing you've done!

Who is Emelio? You may wish to email this "Emelio" person.
Emilio with 949racing. I'm pretty sure I remember him saying that the 205/50r15 was a faster tire on the 15x8 6ULs for autocross and the tread footprint was just about perfect. He also said that with the 15x9 6ULs the 225/45s were faster because they weren't as "puckered" when compared to the 15x8 so they were faster on the track.
I really like my 15x8 6ULs.

Hmm, sarcasm is lost on you young man.

"8's are faster. Better turn in, better mid corner gip, better grip on exit, better braking, better tire wear, better steering feel.
For those not acustomed to race wheels it's en eye opener the first time you yank the wheel over with the wide wheels."
Emilio's reply to my email. Said to call him, easier to communicate that way. I'll pass on anything I learn.
