I know its not exactly the right place to post this but here I go:

I have a 3SGE Toyota Altezza which I have just installed a TD04L-13T turbo onto,

I have an emanage ultimate with map sensor for tuning, everything is installed but just need some help with the base map to get it going, I dont have access to a dyno or wideband at the moment,

I've been looking long and hard at some Turbo Miata maps and was thinking about the possibility of getting away with using one. I found a really good one which had timing and fuel adjustments based on boost pressure,

Not sure how suitable this would be as my engine is 2.0L and I think the map is from a 1.6 or 1.8 miata.

What do you guys think? Reckon I could get away with the map, It beats the hacked up H22A turbo map I've been using :P

Olderguy, I just have to ask- was the Outer Tasmania remark just a total wag? Because that's a relatively close guess.

leideno, he's alluding to the fact that we like it when people put their location into their location field (see under my name?) and some info about their car into their sig.

I can't provide you with a map to use, only to offer some advice. When I installed an EMU on my Miata several years ago, I was an early adopter. I didn't have anybody else's map to copy. I simply created one as a guess, starting with +10 at 0 PSI(relative) and scaling up to +80 or so at 15 PSI (relative). It was very rich and not even close to optimal, but it was enough to get me running so that I could use AutoTune to refinie it. This was done through several weeks of street driving, using the wideband sensor.

I would not even dream of installing a complex aftermarket EFI system without a wideband sensor.

I am yet to take it for a test run and log with this map but it looks like it should be adding enough fuel/retarding enough ignition for me to get by,

Going to purchase a A/F guage, aparently it works of the factory O2 sensor.. I have my doubts...

 

You need a proper wideband exhaust sensor. The stock sensor cannot measure accurately in the 12:1 to 13:1 range where you need to be tuning, it's accurate only in a small window around 14.7:1.

are you using stock injectors? well even if you do tell me you are i still would agree with Joe that a wideband is a must. don't waste your time without it. maybe you'll mess something up.

 

Yup I'm using the stock injectors which are rated at 365cc's

I've been told they run at around 90% duty cycle at 8 psi...

With the map above I'm running at close to 100% duty cycle under full boost (9psi, 11psi spiking) and timing retarded 1 degree per psi so can I assume that there's adequate fuel being added if the injectors are nearly maxed?

May not be the ideal a/f but it sure pulls hard, I took a look at the logs and noticed the knock sensor is reading out 7-10% knock. Its set to Resonant and normal frequency.

I also noticed its only reading out knock when I come off the accelerator and the injectors are cut...
