I know this is an old question but I am about to replace the clutch on 94 miata and already order the parts online. However, I will like to know what other things I might be missing before installing the clutch. I heard there is a sometype of gasket that has to be change from both the trans and the exhaust. Thank ever1 4 ur help.!!!

Samnavy made a clutch DIY thread/post that lists pretty much everything you need.

 

If you can rent or barrow a transmission jack, it will make the job much easier.

Tons of threads on clutch replacements and you had to open your own for the same reason? Search dude!

 

But the tranny is soooo little, the five speed weighs... what, like 55 lbs. or so?

I actually found it easier to bench press the trans rather than **** around with the angle of it on the jack.

 

Agreed, the second time i had to pull my tranny the bench pressing action worked a bit better.

Maybe the OPer cant bench it

 

There is no gasket you have to change. Alot fo people will change the front seal on the tranny.

I always change the engine rear main seal while I am in there.

And you probably won't have to change the exhaust gasket either. But it is cheap.
