I'm relatively new - introduced myself a couple of months ago. My turbo build parts have started to come in. BEGI S3 kit due in a week or two. I need to order my Adaptronics EMS + 600 cc injectors from Travis. He says that additional loom length is available for about $40. Standard length is about 18"? IIRC some users groused about loom being too short and made the install more difficult. I considered locating the Adaptronics behind the passenger seat using a longer loom, but in my '02 there is not enough room there with seat full back. So I will install under the dash.
Question 1: Will I be able to copy Stein's '99 install process on my '02 with regard to mounting location and fabbed bracket?
Question 2: Would additional loom length be helpful in this install? If so, any suggestions on total length to order?
I'll be sending my check to Travis today, but I think have a day or two to decide on optional loom length. Thanks.

We complain about not enough room under the dash, and the wiring harness being so bulky and having a big *** board that goes with it, not that there is not enough wiring length. The standard loom that it comes with (the harness) is what Stein, me, and just about everyone else (except y8s who made his own, and a couple others) are using.
The way he has it written up in his thread is using the normal wiring harness. Its not that hard really, just have to take your time with it and get creative

(Well, no problem other than the fun of spending a lot of time laying on my back with my head where my feet should go, that is.)
I have installed the Adaptronic ECU on my 2002SE...
No problems doing it per the instructions as there was actually just enough wire to make it all fit. It would have been nicer to have more room; but it still worked in all.
Good luck and cheers!

Thanks for the responses and advice. Based on your replies I have ordered the Adaptronic with standard wiring harness length. Should be here within two weeks.
