All who praise 1.5 bar plus boost range,

By some miracle modern technology has given us the gift of ethanol at the pump which basically means 110+ octane fuel for cheaper then normal gasoline. Someone has come forward to ask if the Adaptronic can use the flex fuel sensor so that you can optimize timing and fuel for use with e85 and likewise be able to fill it up with 93 and not sling a rod. If we have enough people interested they are willing to adopt the sensor. They just don't want to sling a lot of time at the problem to get 1 sale.

Can you tell us a little bit more on how this works. Ie, it would definitely adjust both timing AND fuel from feedback from the FCS? Also, will you be able to create spark and fuel maps for both ends of the spectrum, and the ecu will adjust run parameters between the two? Or, will it end up being a correction factor from a base gas map?

I have some interest, but it would likely be pretty long-term, and not worth a lot of front-loaded work on your part. But, more info might be helpful in your efforts.

 

What it would be is that you would use fuel map 1 and set your 93 octane tune, and fuel map 2 you would do your ethanol tune. Same thing with ignition. So the sensor would interpolate between the two maps. So if its 80 percent ethanol and 20 percent gasoline you would use 80 percent the value of the ethanol map and 20 percent the value of the gasoline map added together.

I would also ask him if we could include changing boost targest, because I know alot of people would want more boost, not just more timing.

 

This has lots of value to people wanting to run e85, especially if you can't source it 100% of the time.

Good luck. If I haven't already broken my build budget and I didn't already have an ms1, I'd seriously consider it with this upgrade.

Well, so far... I had a fuel pump go out on my 99 but it also had 180k miles...

E85 is great as far as i can tell... not had any issues!

 

Where are you getting E85 in this area? I see more CNG than E85

 

Pat... there are 2 stations in Germantown... one right by DOE and the other on 118 It's the only thing I like about the area

Very interested. There's a station about 20 miles away from my house, and it would be fantastic to be able to just grab a few gallons before going autocrossing, and filling it up before my runs.
