Default Random oil smoke

I'm back again with this issue

Here's some background:

The engine was built locally. I haven't had any issues with it; it runs smoothly and I have no problems with power but...

Every once in a while the car will randomly smoke (it's oil for sure because I can smell the burnt oil) while idling.

My oil pressure gauge reads around 16 to 18 at idle from the first moment we took the car out of the shop after they rebuilt the engine.

The only other issue I've had is some oil drops on my parking spot. I'm going to take the car to the shop in a couple of days and we plan on:

1) taking the turbo out and inspecting it.
2) taking the head off and inspecting the valves and seals.
3) my mechanic thinks that the oil leak is located in a gasket between the engine and transmission so we'll also take the engine off and check everything again.

I figure braineack and y8s will ask me to do a compression and leakdown test. I'll do both but I'm sure that is not the issue this time around.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Neo; you know your **** so, what's your take?

Thanks

FWIW, it turned out to be the chinacharger.

Thanks for all the suggestions lol

Hopefully you found this out before tearing into everything else. Are you going to slap on a new chinacharger?

Nothing else hurt. Thanks.

I'm going to try a small Garrett I have lying around somewhere for the time being and then I'll search for a new chinacharger yes.
