what do some of yall recommend for Rear Diff gear oil?

im going to be draining the stuff thats in my diff more so to check it and make sure all is well and that there are no metal shavings in there! im just curious to know whats the best stuff to replace it with!

so whats yalls recommendations?

 

Full synthetic is usually best in my opinion.Mobil 1 and Royal Purple are both good.

 

i already did a lil search on it before people start bashing me!

people say Redline 75w90! what are some other choices? i would just like to hear it from the guys who really push their cars to the limit than some ***** footers that dont!

 

+1 on full synthetic. Redline, Penzoil and Amsoil also have good products.

I used to run the heavyweight, but my engine guy who also used to crew chief for an MX5 cup team suggested the lightweight was enough and that I would have less parasitic loss.

If you run a clutch type diff, all bets are off.

 

The shock-proof is too much.

Should I use the same stuff in the transfer case, or is that just distilled water?

 

75-90 mobil......I got 4k on my synthetic fluids and I like it.

 

Why use water when you have a 55-gallon barrel in your bedroom provided by your handball top boyfriend?

 

What do you like about it? I'm interested to hear what kind of feedback you've obtained from the rear end lubrication from the driver's seat. I'm more interested to see your oil analysis data.

 

Water is fine just make sure the VSC is turned off

 

+1 on LWS. I've been running it for 2-3 years now in the tranny and rear diff. Even if you drain it, it leaves a protective layer of smurf blood.

So royal purple 75-90 is also good to use on my 6 speed tranny?

 

im running redline in my trans, but i dont remember the wieght! 75w90 seems a lil to heavy for the trans!

I've been running Royal Purple for over a year and haven't noticed anything (good or bad). So I guess that is good?
