Where do you folks here buy your products?

I dont have the cash to bling out my engine bay, but I do have a few things I would like to improve on while my engine is out.

This forum usually seems to have some seriously legit discount places.

Summit racing has so good deals if you search around

 

Be warned:
The cost of AN fittings everywhere adds up quick no matter how cheap you can find them.

I sure love the quality, durability, and how easy they make disassembling/re-assembling things on your car though.

Low budget racers shop eBay for nascar surplus/leftovers. I've seen stuff even I can afford that I wouldn't even look at in a catalog. Try a search like "AN line nascar" or "AN hose nascar". Speaking of that- there's a lot of dry sump parts on there too.

They don't list everything online, such as a 5/16s hose barb to -6an fitting. That part is win. You gotta call them to get the part number if you don't see it while browsing.

I have purchased Summit brand, Earl's, Aeroquip, & Russell. They are all good quality and interchangeable. The Summit brand is usually the cheapest, but quality is still excellent.

I've purchased Mocal from Pegasus too, also very good.

I'd spend a few extra bucks on swivel fittings, so you can clock them any way you'd like.

Also, get the tools now. Summit wrenches are about ~$10/size. The aluminum vice blocks are about $20. I've built a bunch of lines and only recently bought the tools. Should have bought them right away.

You might try some place local. In town there is a hydraulic parts shop that I use for stuff like this. They service bull dozers and stuff like that but they build lines all day long at less than half the price of typical AN fittings. They also use their machines to crimp the connectors on the SS lines and the fittings are much stronger than the typical AN connectors. I bet most major cities have a similar shop.

 

try royal brass there cheaper then summit by a bit

 

Yeah, I was thinking that. I had a place hook it up like that for my Hydraulic Ebrake.

I may look into that. I did kind of want to make the lines myself and have them be reusable and **** like that.

I will have to check it out though. It was pretty dam affordable.
