Rear end, What do I have?
This rear end came as a back up with the car. It was said to be a torsion. After reviewing some of the threads I am still uncertain. Marked 2 MA 02 at drain hole. MA 002 2 P3 also. other numers painted on 2983 and 0605. 1.8 I hope due to the rubber flange Any idea what rear and ratio ? Is this suitable for a 6 speed ? thank you
Here is a novel idea. Why don't you take it apart and count the teath on the ring gear. At that time you can then inspect the diff. Go Mata.net and read the diff spotters guide.
Have a great day,

The spotters guide and interchange I had found did not match up with what I have. Interchange has a number guide by the closest number was only for 01 Australia a 3.636 Ok Ultimately taking it apart does work.
wait, so you took it apart? or you didn't take it apart? Unless someone has replaced the R&P in it, it is likely a 3.909. Unlikely you've got a pumpkin from the aussies.
R&P Swaps are pretty popular with high HP 6-speed conversions. It would be especially useful if it's going into that ultralight that you've got a picture of.

I expected that the numbers indicated ratio, thats why I posted, so have not taken apart yet. Getting all the pieces together to swap out the stock 1990 drivetrain at one time.
